We can find better solutions, and improve transport more effectively, when we work together with others.
Campaign for Better Transport works with national and local government, transport operators, NGOs, employers and communities to deliver shared objectives, making transport more sustainable and equitable.
Below are some recent examples of our project and partnerships work.
Our partnership with Create Streets produced Tram Network to help local authorities across the UK explore and develop potential tram routes. Supported by an advisory board of senior industry leaders and engineering and implementation experts from the transport industry, we work closely with local authorities and key stakeholders and raise the profile of tram and light rail with senior national politicians and in the public eye.
We worked with UNISON, the UK’s largest union, to look at how home care workers can be helped to transition to greener, cheaper transport. The resulting report and webinar explored how targeted support could reduce emissions in a fair and efficient way, while making life easier and cheaper for this essential workforce.
Working in partnership with the bus industry and bus infrastructure manufacturers Trueform, we drew up our National Bus Stop Standard which sets out the minimum information and facilities required at bus stops. The resulting report, industry webinar and media campaign has highlighted the need for improved bus infrastructure and information as part of the Government’s ‘bus revolution’.
