Better Transport

The RFA process is far from the most democratic way of funding a road – many of the decisions are made behind closed doors at meetings campaigners can’t always attend. But don’t let that put you off – it just means that you might need to get a little creative.

Once you've understood the players and the processes they are following, you should:

• Find out what transport schemes are being proposed for your region
• Choose which schemes you want to campaign about - you may want to support good schemes, oppose bad schemes and/or propose new schemes you would like to see added to the wish list
• Win people over! Campaign on your action by meeting decision-makers and working with the public
• Regional resources - each region has tons of documents which show which schemes they are promoting and why
