Tram cities
There are six trams in the UK:
- Blackpool Tram
- Croydon Tramlink
- Manchester Metrolink
- Midland Metro
- Nottingham Express Transit
- Sheffield Supertram
... and plans for one more:
- Edinburgh: A tram network is scheduled to be completed in Edinburgh by 2011. The first section from Edinburgh Airport to Newhaven is currently being built.
There are also a few systems that are very similar to trams -- giving transport planners an option between a bus and a train -- except they run underground and are officially considered metros or subways:
