Roads

Road building in the South West

The following roads are being proposed in the region and are in the Government's road building programme.

  • A556 Knutsford to Bowden Improvement:£143-207 million
  • Camborne Pool Redruth: £44.6 million 
  • Isles of Scilly South West: £41.5 million 
  • M4 J19 to J20 & M5 J15 to J17: £86-147 million
  • Poole Bridge Regeneration Initiative Scheme: £33.2 million
  • Taunton Third Way and Northern Inner Distribution Road: £30 million

The region would also like to build the following roads, which are in local planning strategies, but which the Government hasn't agreed to fund yet.

We're working with local people to stop them getting in the roads programme.

  •  Kingskerswell Bypass: £130 million
  • M5 J21 Bypass: £40 million
  • Callington Road Link / Bath Road: £5 million
  • A303/A358 Second Strategic Route: £40 million
  • A31 Ameysford Roundabout to Merley Roundabout: £22 million
  • A30 Temple: £16 million
