The following roads are being proposed in the region and are in the Government's road building programme.

  • Ashton Northern Bypass Stage 2: £9.8 million
  • A34 - Alderley Edge Bypass: £48.4 million
  • Carlisle Northern Development Route: £170 million

  • M60 J18 to J20: £81-128 million

The region would also like to build the following roads, which are in local planning strategies, but which the Government hasn't agreed to fund yet.

We're working with local people to stop them getting in the roads programme.

  • Mottram bypass / Glossup spur: £100 million
  • A555 SEMMS Manchester Airport access roads: £320 million
  • A556 (M6 to M56): £174 million
  • A5036T Access to the Port of Liverpool: £165 million
