Experience: I worked as Campaigns Coordinator at CTC, the national cyclists' organisation, for two years, working to reduce the danger posed to cyclists and increase cycling levels. In 2005 I co-founded Plane Stupid, which has been instrumental in getting the media and policy-makers to recognise aviation's contribution to climate change.

Why I work for the Campaign for Better Transport: I was aware that while I was promoting cycling, Government policy was forcing people into cars. This job allows me to do something about that. Time is running out if we're to tackle climate change. Working for Campaign for Better Transport means I can make a genuine impact.

Biggest transport gripe: The fact that it can be cheaper to fly within the UK than to take the train. Though flying isn't as cheap as many believe – it also annoys me that airlines get away with advertising cheap tickets that you can't actually buy.

Favourite means of transport: I'm a big fan of cycling. In London it's often quicker than driving or public transport – I know because I like to race my friends home! It's also cheap – with the money I save on fares I could almost buy a new bike every month...
